Farthest I’ve gotten. I thought yesterday’s W4D1 was going to be disasterous since I had to take time off to nurse my pneumonia, but it was actually the best yet! Restarting W4 tonight.
I’m off of my antibiotics and breathing much better. I did sign up for Curves last night but got there too late to try the Zumba class, so I’m doing that on Thursday and alternating it with C25K. I’m really just ready to get W4 out of the way but also a bit scared since I haven’t run since last Wednesday right before I got sick.

Tomorrow, dear fitblr, I am joining Curves!
Since it’s the last day before I can restart C25k (W4 again), I am going to a Curves down the street to check it out. I’ve heard really really great things about it, and after this past weekend I’ve realized I need more structure in this fitness deal.
I’m quite excited!
Some positives of being ill
- I am actually upset about not being able to run. Who is this girl?
- I am resting and getting better and I think I’ll be good to re-start week 4 on Wednesday

I have walking pneumonia
I feel like crying.
This means I can’t run again until early next week.
I am so upset and frustrated and know that I shouldn’t be.
I need to rest and let my body recover and not push my lungs or hurt them. To do that I need to not run.
But I was really looking forward to running tonight and moving past this week into Week 5 next.
I’m allowing myself to wallow in this...

W4D1 - OWNED
I say owned in a way to mean I almost died during the last five minute-run. And even though I had to slow down, I did not stop.
I also had a personal best distance today - 1.7 miles! Which means that by next week I’m going to be at 2 miles per run. Isn’t that crazy? It is to me!

My intent was to come home today and go immediately running. I skipped on finishing W3 because of the AIDSWalk but I wanted to finish it today so I could start Week 4 on Wednesday and stay on track. The race I’m eyeballing is in the first weekend of November and if I stay on this course, the race day will be W9D2.

5K Walk - COMPLETE
I did AIDSWalks - Phoenix this past weekend. Its a 5k walk. There is also a run you can select, but this early into my fitness journey (and given the fact that I am only on Week 3/4 of C25K) I didn’t even consider running.
In retrospect, I think I should have.

1.5 again - W3D2 done
And because I’m an idiot and didn’t hear my app tell me to stop running, I ran 4 minutes, walked 60 seconds and then ran another 3.
I felt like a beast.
This run was infinitely easier than the first one. I had some shin pain in the beginning but it tapered off.
And the best part about today…
I am wearing a shirt that was too tight last month.

Week 3 Day 1 - complete
It definitely kicked my butt. All that bravado from yesterday? Demolished.
I know I finished and I want to be proud that I didn’t stop at all… but that last 3-minute run was killer and I felt awful after it.

1.5 miles today
This is the farthest I have ever gotten using C25K. I repeated W2D3 because I didn’t want to start Week 3 yet during the end of the week (I like the weeks to be standard 7-day weeks; keeps me in line) and I did 1.5 miles.
This is huge for me. Today was run 90 seconds, walk 90 seconds and so I didn’t run it straight through.
But I increased my pace and did 1.5 miles.

Week 2 - DONE
Well, technically.
Also, I think I have shin splints. :( I’ve been icing them for quite some while now. They were hurting pretty much all day today with my right hurting more than my left. I’m really really really really hoping this pain goes away within the next day so I can run again on Sunday.
